PPPoE upstream onboarding

Bring the router online before configuring the hotspot.

JOJO CONNECT supports either DHCP or PPPoE as the router’s upstream WAN connection. The installer protects the administrative port, verifies connectivity, then applies the hotspot configuration.

This is upstream-router onboarding—not full PPPoE subscriber management. Subscriber provisioning, service profiles and accounting are being developed and are not represented as live product capability.

JOJO CONNECT captive portal
After upstream validation, the customer network can be configured for managed hotspot access.
Safe sequence

Validate first. Configure second.

  1. Select the WANChoose the physical upstream interface, normally ether1 on hAP lite and RB951-family routers.
  2. Use ISP credentialsFor PPPoE, add the username and password supplied by the upstream provider.
  3. Run preflightJOJO CONNECT checks route, public internet, DNS, clock and HTTPS before reporting readiness.
  4. Preserve administrationEther2 stays on its own management network while customer hotspot ports are configured separately.
CHECK

Clear failures

Preflight failures name the missing WAN, route, internet, DNS or HTTPS requirement instead of reporting a false pass.

REPAIR

Safe DNS repair

When configured, safe public resolvers are applied only after upstream connectivity is confirmed.

COMPATIBILITY

RouterOS-aware scripts

NTP syntax is selected for known RouterOS v6 and v7 profiles; hAP lite uses the legacy wireless path.

BOUNDARY

No subscriber claim

The setup creates an upstream PPPoE client only. It does not market unfinished PPPoE subscriber controls as complete.
